After the recent death of my father I was nervous to go back to work. I know lots of grievers feel this way. I was especially nervous because at my job I talk to people about death all day!
Thanks for this Jen. It's funny, for decades I am sure people would have considered work the last place where we ought to process grief. But even though most of my work is not connected to grief, I've felt very comfortable sharing with folks, mostly because I work with nurses and other helping professionals. And many of them have shared their own stories, creating more of a feeling of mutual support than "Oh, I may be a little distracted because my dad died." Makes me think there is more room for this stuff than we think!
